STORY
The makeups are executed spontaneously and in an abstract manner yet it is still harmonious without overpowering one another. I think it is also a way for us to show that beauty and art can co-exist with an understated elegance. The portraits are shot in a bedroom using only a reflector, and the models were told to be unguarded. To create a surrealistic scene, our makeups are intentionally left undone to allow viewers to interpret and understand the image in their own unique ways.
First, we will use the PETER THOMAS ROTH Glycolic Acid 10% Moisturizer and massage onto the skin in a circular motion. This helps to improve blood circulation and promote faster absorption. Next, we will squeeze BURBERRY Cashmere Concealer on the tip of our finger and gently dap onto the blemishes until it evens out. We can now put a little BURBERRY Velvet Foundation onto the back our hand and with your fingertip, dab the foundation over the face, two dabs on the forehead, two on the cheeks, one on the nose, one on the chin, and blend. Similar to the previous step, we will use the BURBERRY Fresh Glow - Luminous Fluid Foundation, dab a few times over the face, and blend. This helps to illuminate the complexion and create a dewy glow. Moving onto the lips, we will apply the KIEHL'S Scented Lip Balm #1 Mango to keep them soft and hydrated. Now, we give the entire face a good spray using the ALGENIST Splash Hydrating Setting Mist. This step is important as it creates a protective layer to prevent the makeup from sliding. Lastly, using the SEBASTIAN PROFESSIONAL Taming Elixir, we dispense a few drops onto our palm and apply it to damp hair to give a smooth, natural finish.
Using MAC Cosmetics Chromacake - Black Black, the stars are drawn in abstract lines. When the models are placed together, the stars forms "a face".
Using URBAN DECAY Vice Lipstick - Plague, we apply it to the center of the lip. Next, we got the models to press their lips together and blur the lipstick out toward their lip lines. To create an undone "stained" look, we intentionally blur out further beyond their lip lines. The steps repeats for both colours: MAC Cosmetics Amplified Lipstick - Deep Reddened Fuchsia and MAKE UP FOR EVER Artist Rouge Light Luminous Hydrating Lipstick - Red Coral.
Using MAC Cosmetics Pigment - Hi-Def Cyan, we applied a small amount onto a fan brush and started gently sweeping across the face to create wavelike patterns.
